fracolor
..........
Kolker uses photography and painting in a process called fracolor. By fractionating and iterating the fractal components of the image (the "fra" in fracolor) and employing elemental color mixed only with black and/or white to produce shades or tints of color (the "color" in fracolor), Kolker transforms images to imitate the pixilated dots that compose computer and television screens. Much like the art historical techniques, divisionism and pointillism, Kolker's fracolor style has exploded into the contemporary moment through an aesthetic inquiry into digital technology. Art and science, through perception and cognition, continue to interact. Go digital! The dot is in!
